Our founder Mr. Dinu Nanjappa comes from a coffee growing land in India, Coorg/Kodagu in Karnataka. He is highly fond of drinking coffee since his childhood and always wanted to share more about Indian coffee to the world. And so, he introduced the brand “Planet Coffee”. He wanted his brand to have a global vision with a theme to be sustainable and eco-friendly. Therefore, the colour associated with our brand is also green.

Another reason behind launching this brand was to help all the coffee farmers, as many of them receive inadequate compensations for their yield. #PlanetCoffee will purchase raw coffee directly from the farmers and market them globally.

Initially the logo had a coffee bean design of cup and saucer which was surrounded by a green ring that had 2 stars and the brand name around it. The stars were put to signify the ambition of the founder. The coffee bean design of cup and saucer signified authenticity.

When we decided to change the logo, we had many new ideas that we could not only do with the logo but with the brand itself. The founder wants to create an impact with “Planet Coffee”.

The new logo elements represent a “Coffee Bean” overlapping an “Infinite Sign” which showcases the new, infinite and fresh ideas the brand has for it to grow. For instance,

- Coffee export globally from India

- Wholesale trading (Café, Restaurants, offices, business houses etc.)

- Coffee retail products ranging around 20+ varieties including coffee-based cosmetic products.

- Expansion of Planet Coffee cafes across India

- Coffee tourism (organising tours to give people a good insight about coffee production)

- Educate people about coffee (collaborating with colleges to start courses related to the niche of coffee)

Since we wanted our name to speak to our customers directly, we created a logo using only the word "Planet Coffee” in which we substituted a "Coffee Swirl" for the "O" in "Coffee" to give it the flavour of coffee and state what the brand is all about.

Over time your brand might change visually or even in direction, but your origin story will always stay the same.

And this was our story!
